The woman on the left on the picture of the two women (with the print "postmortem photographs") is certainly not dead. It is known to be a hoax and a very obvious one. It is impossible to hold a body and head up like that so when it is a REAL dead person they are propped up in a chair or there is a person covered in a sheet holding them up, etc. Her hands are also relaxed (dead ones have hands that clench and darken at the tips). It is said that the photographer drew the eyes on the picture (as the only reason that this could be a PM). This was back when photographers did not have photoshop and positions had to be held for an extended amount of times (causing blurs for even the slightest movement. If he corrected this, it does NOT conclude it's a PM (postmortem). Unfortunately sellers will try to make profit on "questionables" all the time (check ebay for a lot of these scams!)
Several of the photos above were taken of people who were alive. There is so much misinformation about postmortem photography on the internet. See this photo, which does not have advertising, for the true story: http://dealer042.wixsite.com/post-mortem-photos

ReplyDeleteYes well said
DeleteThe twins always freak me out pretty hardcore.
ReplyDeleteBleg I hate postmortem photography.
ReplyDeleteTop photo- child is asleep or resting on floor. Not a pm photo. And neither is 1940s couple with the 2 kids. The boy and girl are sleeping, not dead.

ReplyDeleteBTW: Photos 11 and 12 from the top were movie still. All of the people were actors and they were alive.
